Blakes 1st Golf Tourney

Blake took golf lessons this summer at Fox Hollow. He loved it! They host a 2 day golf tournament for kids. When I heard about it, I called Chad to see if he was interested in doing it with him and he said YES! Chad took 2 days off work and lived it up at the golf course! It paid off for Chad, cause Blakes golf instructor gave a him a free 18 holes with a cart. That is the way I like them to golf...for free!

Awesome form Blake! You're making your dad proud!

Blake came home talking non stop about how much fun he had.
My favorite was this conversation:
B: Luke you should golf it's so much fun.
L: I know, I do golf.
B: Dad let me drive the golf cart by myself.
L: I'm telling mom!
B: Well Dad said it doesn't have a motor, just a battery, so it's ok.

Freedom Run

On the 4th of July, Chad, Blake and I all ran in the Freedom Run. The boys did the 1 mile, and I did the 5k. I thought that if I signed up for a 5K then I would run to prepare for it...not so. I didn't prepare but since I paid the money I had to run. I did solicit my best friend Carrie from high school to run it with me.

Carrie and I before the race

Blake just finish his race

At the start...he's excited!

The gang after the races

Carrie and I after the race! She kicked my trash!! But that's ok, she is crazy and is doing a 1/2 marathon in August. I will go and cheer her on but not going to run with her.

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!

Tee Ball

Chad was Luke's Tee Ball Coach this year. Luke thought it was great, and when he was with his team, only referred to Chad as Coach. I thought it was hilarious! Chad kept telling him he could call him dad, but Luke refused!

These were the only action shots I got, and had to "steal" them off my old phone.

What a handsome little guy!

Luke was on a team with his best friend Myles. They had so much fun together, and did not take it serious for a minute. Chad loved that!

I Got Flocked

I have issues with pink flamingos in peoples yards. It's tacky! So on my birthday when I saw the 70 year old man out putting these up in my yard I wanted to die! I couldn't bring myself to go out and ask him what he was doing. I felt like I couldn't even leave my house cause someone would see me with these birds!

This is what the man taped to my door. Since I don't know a "Haylee and MaKayla" I started calling everyone I thought it could be. First I called my Mom, she knows my hate for these better then anyone. She said no. Called Chad, he said no, but asked for a picture! Then I blamed Mindy and Tara. Mindy said no, but I heard nothing back from Tara. So then I called the people that put these up and asked them...they said that the "persons" responsible wanted to remain anonymous...seriously? You better believe if I was smart enough to think of this I would be taking credit!

The boys loved it!! They thought it was awesome. They asked if they could keep them as pets.

I had Blake take my picture...this will be the ONLY time these beauties grace my yard!

...and finally the culprit comes clean! So funny! I have to give it to you mom...you had a good poker face and kept it up for a while. Job well done! Seriously hilarious!!

Austin Gets A Buzz

Austin has the strangest hair. It's almost as if someone has crimped it. When it's long it gets really fluffy and looks like someone has taken some batting, pulled it apart, and put it on his head. So maybe by shaving it all off we will get something new to grow in....fingers crossed! I have always buzzed my boys when they were babies so now it's Austin's turn. He didn't mind the clippers, but maybe it was because we gave him a sucker to distract him. He may need to get used to the clippers because a buzz might be the only way to deal with his hair.

Austin Turns 1

I think I am in denial that Austin is already a year old. His birthday got here before I knew it, so the night before, I finally started to think about what I was going to do. I came across a fish cake online that I thought was cute. Looked easy enough to pull off, so I gave it a try. Since we have had a birthday around here every 6 weeks or so I was sick of cake. So I decided to do sugar cookies...of course sticking with the fish theme. I think it all turned out great!

Not happy about having to pose for a picture

We love this little man and it's hard to believe that he is growing up so fast.
1 year stats:
Height: 31"
Weight: 22 lbs
Has 5 teeth (2 top, 3 bottom)
Loves to climb
Still crawling...he's a chicken
Loves to snuggle

Arches National Park

During Chad's family reunion were able to take the kids to Arches. I really wanted them to hike delicate arch, mainly because I wanted to. It's only 3 miles and I knew Blake would be able to make it. But I was a bit nervous for Luke to make the hike, it gets a bit steep for a 4 year old. Not to mention it was 90+ degrees. Austin was no problem, Chad got to pack him in.
Everyone made it no problem. We ended up with a bigger group then we thought we would. We had 7 kids 8yrs and under, 2 that were under 1 year. They boys favorite part was when they got to walk under the arch.
