Happy Birthday Luke!

My little man is now 3!! Although he is still insisting that he is 2. Luke has been so fun and keeps us on our toes, we never know what we are going to get with him. He is either making us laugh or testing our limits. He is sweet and sassy! He is very social and everyone is his friend! We love him and the fun he brings to our family.
We had a little party for him on Friday night. For months now he has had his Birthday Party all planned out. All he wanted to do was have a surprise party at "Chubby Cheeses" and have all of his friends come and yell surprise!! Well, he didn't get exactly what he asked for, but we did take the boys to Chuck E Cheese for dinner, then home to celebrate with cake and ice cream with our families. As always, he got way too many presents and was in heaven.

Library Day

I love Fridays for more reasons than one. But lately why I love Fridays is that it's Library day for Blake's class. I love to see what books he has picked to bring home for the week. You never know what he is going to bring home. It usually has something to do with animals, bugs, or motorcycles and cars. These are all fact books--no fiction for this kid.

Last week he did bring home a TEXT BOOK about Weather and Climate--it was even published by Prentice-Hall. He looked at it every morning during breakfast. Not too out of the norm, he usually "reads" the weather page out of the newspaper with his breakfast. Chad and I got a good laugh with that one.

But this week he brought home this beauty!!
And could not wait for Chad or I to read it to him. This was pretty much an information book for someone who has lice!! (must have been pre-internet) It covers everything from how and where they lay eggs. To how to treat your lice problem, what special shampoos and combs to use, whatever you need to cure your lice in more areas than one. I got to about page two and could not stop itching!! We quickly finished the book, I put it back in his backpack, and told him he had to return it first thing on Monday. I don't know why, but I felt like we were going to get lice just from having the book in our house.

Why can't he bring home books like: The Diary of a Worm, or If You Give a Mouse a Cookie? These still have to do with animals. Apparently someone needs to show him that there are other sections of the library.

I cant wait to see what he brings home today.

Happy Birthday Blake!

Our Blake man is now 7!! Blake's birthday just happened to be during spring break so we were able to do a little more then the usual take him to dinner. We ended up going to the Planetarium and seeing a 3D IMAX movie. Blake loved it, Luke hated it. I guess there is a difference between a 7 year old and a 2 year old. Blake's birthday celebration seemed to last for a week. Everyday for a week someone was stopping by with gifts for him. This kid is truly loved and very spoiled!

Blake was excited that his partner in crime, Savannah was able to join him.
Here they are on the moon.

Luke on the moon.
(I think it's time for a new camera, Luke normally does not have a crazy eye)

And here they are exploring Mars.

10 Years!

Circa 1998...
where it all began.

Time has flown by and the adventure has been awesome!!

Easter

I had to work the Saturday before Easter so Chad being the awesome dad he is, took the kids to an Easter egg hunt. He is better then me, it was so cold I would have never ventured out! The kids had a good time. I thought they got plenty, so this year the Easter Bunny didn't have to worry about getting any treats. He did bring them each some books, and they thought that was great!

It's that time of year...

I LOVE this time of year...only because I have a cookie addiction!
Chad jokes that he is going to come home from work one day and I am going to be passed out on the couch with a trail of chocolate drool and empty boxes of girl scout cookies all around...sounds dreamy! Bring on the cookie coma!

Winter Getaway

We were lucky enough to be able to join Chad on his last business trip to California. Because he and his brother Craig work for the same company, Kristi and I were able to turn their work trip into our own little vacation! We had a blast taking the kids to Disneyland, California Adventures, and the beach.
It ended up that all the Colyar grandkids were there the same week. We tried to meet up with Jackson but we never could make it work, we were bummed. Oh well, now we will just have to go again! The weather was great for the most part. We did get caught in some rain at times but our stroller covers worked wonders, and Kristi and I lost our pride and put on our plastic ponchos.
Luke thought he was so awesome that he got to drive a big car.

Blake can never get enough of the beach!
The beach cave we found at Laguna Beach.

The boys on the Tea Cups. I have never heard them laugh so hard!

Luke loved meeting all the characters! Blake has never liked anyone or anything in costume. But he was a good sport and joined the group for photos.

Toy Story Mania. One of Luke's favorite rides.
