Luke's 1st day of Preschool

o

Luke was more than ready for preschool. He couldn't wait to go. I asked him for a picture before we left and he obliged. But said for me not to make him late! In typical Luke fashion we took crazy pictures, and I had to beg for a good one.

He loved the first day of school and has now asked me to be the last mom to pick him up. I hope this love for school continues!!

Soccer Season is Here!!

Blake is a seasoned pro at soccer now. He was a bit nervous to start the season because he's the youngest on his team. But now that doesn't seem to bother him. We moved him from playing on a county league to city league. He was sad that he was not going to play with the same kids he had played with for the last 2 years. But with 2 playing it was too hard to get them both to were they needed to be at the same time. This has turned out to be alright. Blake and Luke still have some games at the same time. But at least they are at the same place.

BLAKE
He a quick little runner

Not sure what happened here, but I love this picture!

The down side to this is they play in August, 100 degrees is a bit hot, and Blake's team doesn't have any subs. So he plays the entire time!

LUKE
This is Luke's first season playing soccer. He likes it for a bout the first 15 mins then he says he needs a rest. After that he is in and out of the game on his schedule. He also plays on a team with his best friend Myles. They tend to get distracted and forget that they are supposed to be playing soccer.

Look at that grin...

Some serious focus

His first throw in. Even kept both feet on the ground.

1st day of school

I can't believe he is already a 3rd grader!!
I asked him how the first day went, he said he loved it and was so glad that he was back in school! I just hope this excitement keeps up, at least for a few more months.

2nd day of school was a different story. I got called by the school nurse to come pick him up because he had a head injury! His vision was blurry and she thought he was slurring his words. Nice! Off to a good start!

Floating the River

This summer we had to get creative in finding things to do. A new favorite of the boys was to go float the "river". They had so much fun doing this and the best part was I didn't have to get in the freezing water. And it was only about shin deep so I didn't have to worry about them drowning. A win win for me. We will need to go again before the water is gone.

Garden

This is the first year Chad and I have ever attempted a garden. We mainly did this because we wanted the kids to learn to work. So this has been their project from the beginning. We took them to the store to pick out what they wanted to plant.
They planted it.
They weed it.
They harvest it.
The plus to this is that they don't mind doing it. Work in disguise.

This has been fun for all of us. I am amazed at how well everything is doing. The boys get excited every time there is something ready to pick.

Here is what they picked last week.

The mighty garden

Watermelon

Zucchini and Cucumbers

Corn

Strawberries

Cantaloupe (7 growing!!)

Sugar Snap Peas

Splash Pad

We played at the splash park a last week. And I discovered what an awesome babysitter Blake is! Austin was dying to get in the water and play with the boys. I took him over to play and Blake just took charge. He followed Austin everywhere. He and Luke are so good to Austin and are both very protective of him.

Laken

We have been spending some time "laken", as Luke likes to call it. The boys love to swim around and ride the tube. I have a good time on the tube too! We have yet to get Chad or Austin out on it but I'm sure we will before the summer is over.

Me and the boys heading out on the tube.

The boys out swimming.
Blake loves to jump off the boat into the water. Luke prefers to take it slow, one toe at a time.

Austin likes to drive with Chad but sometimes won't let go for Chad to turn the wheel.
Austin LOVES being in the water! He can't get enough. He gets upset when he has to get back in the boat.

Luke would ride the tube all day if we let him.

Boating=Happiness!

These two have been best friends this summer.
