Garden

This is the first year Chad and I have ever attempted a garden. We mainly did this because we wanted the kids to learn to work. So this has been their project from the beginning. We took them to the store to pick out what they wanted to plant.

They planted it.
They weed it.
They harvest it.
The plus to this is that they don't mind doing it. Work in disguise.

This has been fun for all of us. I am amazed at how well everything is doing. The boys get excited every time there is something ready to pick.

We played at the splash park a last week. And I discovered what an awesome babysitter Blake is! Austin was dying to get in the water and play with the boys. I took him over to play and Blake just took charge. He followed Austin everywhere. He and Luke are so good to Austin and are both very protective of him.

Laken

We have been spending some time "laken", as Luke likes to call it. The boys love to swim around and ride the tube. I have a good time on the tube too! We have yet to get Chad or Austin out on it but I'm sure we will before the summer is over.

Blake loves to jump off the boat into the water. Luke prefers to take it slow, one toe at a time.

Austin likes to drive with Chad but sometimes won't let go for Chad to turn the wheel.

Austin LOVES being in the water! He can't get enough. He gets upset when he has to get back in the boat.

Luke would ride the tube all day if we let him.

These two have been best friends this summer.

Zoo

We actually made it to the zoo this summer. The boys have been really wanting to go for a while now. But I am a good weather snob and only wanted to go on a nice day.

Blake and Luke acted like they had never seen animals before! They were so excited with everything that we saw. Even the animals we could barely see because they were napping, they were excited about.

Austin thought everything was amazing too! He would yell at the animals and get really excited when they would move. His favorite were the little monkeys.

A Newborn Again?

Austin is an awesome napper. He is very good at keeping on his schedule. Naps at 10am and 2:30pm. The boy is a rock star!
But this morning I put Austin down for his morning nap a little early, at 9:30am. It's now 2:45pm and he is still sleeping! Yes, he is still breathing...trust me I have been in his room about 10 times to check.
Over 5 hours later, is this still considered a nap?
Does this fall into the category of "he has his days and nights mixed up"??
Not sure what he is trying to pull...
I think I better go wake him up.

Blakes 1st Golf Tourney

Blake took golf lessons this summer at Fox Hollow. He loved it! They host a 2 day golf tournament for kids. When I heard about it, I called Chad to see if he was interested in doing it with him and he said YES! Chad took 2 days off work and lived it up at the golf course! It paid off for Chad, cause Blakes golf instructor gave a him a free 18 holes with a cart. That is the way I like them to golf...for free!

Blake came home talking non stop about how much fun he had.
My favorite was this conversation:
B: Luke you should golf it's so much fun.
L: I know, I do golf.
B: Dad let me drive the golf cart by myself.
L: I'm telling mom!
B: Well Dad said it doesn't have a motor, just a battery, so it's ok.

Freedom Run

On the 4th of July, Chad, Blake and I all ran in the Freedom Run. The boys did the 1 mile, and I did the 5k. I thought that if I signed up for a 5K then I would run to prepare for it...not so. I didn't prepare but since I paid the money I had to run. I did solicit my best friend Carrie from high school to run it with me.

Carrie and I after the race! She kicked my trash!! But that's ok, she is crazy and is doing a 1/2 marathon in August. I will go and cheer her on but not going to run with her.
